Lecture Series: The Life and Teachings of St Nektarios

Beginning July 21st, 2021, our St Kosmas Catechetical school will begin again with a lecture series on the life of St Nektarios of Aegina, a great saint and wonderworker of modern times. We will begin going through his life and then explore some of his teachings. St Nektarios was an exceptional theologian and a great shepherd of the Church. All will find his life and teachings to be extremely edifying and inspirational.

The lectures will be held on Wednesdays at approximately 7pm, following 6pm Vespers. Below is the schedule and a flier for download to share!:

JULY 21st: THE LIFE OF ST NEKTARIOS PT. 1
An Introduction to the life of St Nektarios and his ascent to the episcopacy

JULY 28th: THE LIFE OF ST NEKTARIOS PT. 2
The betrayal, exile, founding of a convent, and a Saint of our times.

AUG 4th: CONFESSION AND REPENTANCE
The Saint’s teachings on the nature of confession.

AUG 11th: THE NATURE AND MISSION OF THE CHURCH
What does it mean to be an Orthodox Christian today?

AUG 18th: THE PRIESTHOOD
An understanding of the priesthood

AUG 25th: ON CHRISTIAN ETHICS
The saint’s advice on how to keep the Lord’s word (St John 14:23)
